TELL US ABOUT YOUR SPECIAL DAY…

Ceremony : The Old London Marylebone Town Hall

Reception : The Landmark London

TOLMTH is such a beautiful venue. It’s rich with musical history and has ‘cool’ written all over it with Sir Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and Liam Gallagher getting married there.

When we decided on a small intimate wedding in London, I knew we couldn’t choose anywhere else, it has ‘us’ written all over it, something I wasn’t seeing anywhere else when searching for the perfect venue.

For the reception, The Landmark London plays a part in our story as it was the venue of one of our first dates. I fell in love with the architecture of the interior mixed with the palm trees and just knew it was the perfect setting that matched the tones of The Old Marylebone and the Soho Room.

I became obsessed with the London city feel of minimalistic and chic. I knew I wanted a black and white pallet to keep simple and clean whilst having that modern edge to match the Winona Mini.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR proposal STORY…

We were in New York on a city break, we’d started the morning at Starbucks with Nat King Cole playing in the background, we crossed the road and made way for Central Park before hailing a horse and carriage ride.

We had a tour of the park before stopping at the famous Besthesda Fountain. (To Ashley’s surprise, it had no water in it!) So after he told me it was Plan B - rather than propose at the fountain, when we climbed back into the carriage – Ashley asked the carriage driver to snap a photo, it was at that point I turned to notice Ashley had got down on one knee, and let’s just say what came out of my mouth wasn’t very PC.

It all happened before 9:45am so we spent the day in a bubble seeing the sights, eating pizza in Brooklyn and seeing a Frank Sinatra tribute act in the evening, it was perfect.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THE Winona and Bowie?

My Instagram explore page. Once the wedding planning began and I started the search for my dress, my explore page became heavily targeted with all kinds of beautiful dresses and then I saw the Winona Mini. From there I found the new collection and was on the hunt for a U.K stock list – I just knew I had to have it!

WHAT DID YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT YOUR wedding look?

The Bowie Bow. It has to be the Bowie bow. It is the statement piece that was just the right amount of over the top. I knew I wanted a short dress and when I saw the

Winona Mini with the Bow attached, I just knew that was the one. The tail created a train that helped create a traditional bridal feel, but once the bow was placed on to the dress the structure of the bow made me feel like an angel with glamours twist.

WHERE DID YOU PURCHASE YOUR PREA JAMES LOOK?

The Fall Bride – London, UK.

ARE THERE ANY SPECIAL DETAILS ABOUT YOUR WEDDING THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO SHARE?

Unlike tradition, we decided to wake up and spend the morning together, before taking a classic white London style taxi to the venue with our daughter. We chose to do it this way as we planned a journey into Central London that allowed us to past sentimental places to us, from the O2 Arena to the London Embankment and various other locations, it almost created a salute of memories from the past leading up to now. It was such a special moment before saying our vows.

My Mother-in-law made the bouquet for our flower girl and bridesmaid. We had a simple gypsophila flower wrapped in the Tiffany’s ribbon from our wedding ring boxes pinned with a pearl pin from the bouquet I had saved from my brother’s wedding.

Ashley and I also made our wedding invites, as we had a small wedding with family it was silly to spend out on 50+ prints when we only needed 8. So, we got creative on photoshop and had them printed ourselves before I added the finishes touch of a black silk ribbon through each one.

WHAT ADVICE DO YOU HAVE FOR BRIDES TO BE?

Your photographer, choose someone that fits your style and what you want to capture from the day. Don’t just pick someone local because you think they are convenient, if you find a photographer who may cost a little more because they need to travel then do it. If you love their work, it is more than worth it.

As soon as I saw Sammy’s work, I knew I wanted her to capture our day. Your wedding day is a bubble, and we were so in the moment of each other I wouldn’t want it any other way and our photograph captured that. I honestly believe if it wasn’t as captured as well as it was, memories could be lost – but thanks to Sammy these memories really will last a lifetime.
