HANNAH & COREY'S SYDNEY WEDDING
Wedding Date: 27th November 2020
Hannah wears our Tyler gown
What was your wedding venue and why did you choose there?
Ceremony – The Rose Garden, The Royal Botanic Gardens
Reception – Botanic House, The Royal Botanic Gardens
We loved the idea of having our wedding ceremony in a garden setting and also wanted to get married in Sydney CBD so that it was central for all of our guests. So, The Royal Botanical Gardens felt perfect for us. We looked at a few venues for our reception and ended up choosing Botanic House, we went there for lunch one weekend and it was so beautiful to be surrounded by nature but in the middle of Sydney City.
Did you have a wedding theme/style?
We had a modern garden theme, with dusty pink accents.
How did you and your now Husband meet?
We met while working together at IKEA haha. We found love in the giant blue box!
What is your proposal story?
We had just arrived in Bali for a holiday and Corey had booked a sunset dinner at La Brisa however after just being on a plane and stuck in a car for hours I fell asleep on our bed and he didn’t want to wake me, so we missed the sunset however it was still a beautiful dinner & proposal by the water!
How did you hear about Prea James Bridal?
When visiting Hope x Page & purchased my gown from them.
What do you love most about the gown?
The way it made me feel, it was so beautiful and elegant and I love that it was a two piece, it made it feel modern and unlike any other wedding dress.
Are there any special details about your wedding that you would like to share?
Due to Covid we knew not all of our guests would be able to get up and dance, so we wanted to keep everyone entertained and having fun. As we love games nights and going to trivia, so we decided to ask our local trivia host to be our MC and throw in some games for all of our guests. He got everyone laughing and created some entertaining competition between tables which was so great to see!
Corey and I both live in sneakers, so we thought it would be a good idea to change into white sneakers at the reception so we could dance the night away in comfortable shoes. It felt very ‘us’!
Were there any details that you (and friends and family) made yourselves?
We had so much help from friends & family, my mum helped create my veil – she sewed on all of the pearls. My brother designed our Invitations & Stationery, Corey’s brother in law Clint made our Archway. My cousin Alicia was our celebrant and my mums friend Jill made our Wedding Cake! It was so nice to involve everyone as it made it feel even more special for us.
Finally, Do you have any words of wisdom for couples planning their big day?
Make sure you choose shoes you are comfortable wearing, having sore feet will ruin any day/night!
On the big day try to get some time alone as a couple, just to reflect on all of the hard work you have put in, it really does go by so quickly so its nice to sit back and take it all in together.
