Verity Wears the SIDoniE DRESS

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE YOUR PARTICULAR GOWN/LOOK?

Working in the wedding industry, I see gowns and bridal looks every week, so I knew from the start that I wanted something that felt uniquely mine.

A big Cinderella moment never really resonated with me—my personal style is much more relaxed and minimal. The Sidone gown was the perfect fit. Its tea-length cut created a sleek, chic silhouette that felt elevated yet effortless.

WHERE DID YOU PURCHASE YOUR PREA JAMES LOOK?

Directly from the Sydney Boutique via email, without trying it on. When you know, you know.

Prea James Boutique, Paddington, Sydney.

Tell us about your special day

Alex and I have always been more comfortable behind the scenes than in the spotlight, so when it came to planning a day that was all about us, we knew it had to feel true to who we are- relaxed, intentional, and on our own terms. Our ceremony was held in Z Ward, a heritage-listed site under the care of the National Trust. Years earlier, I had come across a fashion shoot in front of its striking arched glass windows—a photo that left a lasting impression on me. That image stayed with me, and when it came time to choose a venue, it felt right. We wanted something meaningful, something with character and history, and something entirely unique to us. Ours was the first wedding ever held on the premises, and we intentionally kept it all indoors—no plan B required. With only 60 guests, the ceremony was intimate, giving us the chance to share real moments with every person there. Our reception followed at Fugazzi, a New York–inspired restaurant with a moody, romantic vibe that matched the tone of the day perfectly, taking everything from day to night. With delicious food and flowing drinks, it was the perfect end to the day.

WHAT ADVICE DO YOU HAVE FOR BRIDES TO BE?

Don’t get swept up in the pressure to follow trends—or even to chase the idea of what’s considered “timeless.” The most meaningful weddings are the ones that truly reflect the couple at a specific moment in their lives. Your day should be a celebration of who you are together: your style, your story, your energy. It doesn’t need to resonate with everyone else—it just needs to feel unmistakably yours.
