Chrissy and Alex's Modern Bowral Wedding
Wedding Date: 27/03/021
What was your wedding venue (ceremony & reception) and why did you choose there?
We had both our ceremony and reception at a private residence in Bowral. We wanted our wedding to be intimate, and we didn’t want time restrictions. The residence was also stunning, and across from the golf course which made for great photos.
Did you have a wedding theme/style? If so, tell me about it, please!
Our wedding theme is what I’d describe as casual and modern. We chose neutral colours, and let our surroundings set the tone of the decor.
How did you and your now Husband meet?
He was my personal trainer! Hehe
What is your proposal story?
Alex and I went on a holiday to Greece in 2019. I am half Greek, and have been to Greece many times, and I was so excited to show Alex why I loved it so much. Towards the end of our trip we took a ferry from Naxos to Santorini and had the most divine day exploring the Island, then chilling by the pool drinking margaritas. We booked an early dinner at a local restaurant and afterwards we went to Franco’s bar which overlooks the Calderra, which shows off that very famous Santorini sunset. Alex (very nervously) popped the question after we’d ordered some whisky sours! It was unexpected and beautiful.
How did you hear about Prea James Bridal?
I saw an acquaintance wear the Cara Gown and I couldn’t get it off my mind, I just knew it was the dress for me!
From where did you purchase your gown?
I bought my gown from Hope X Page in Sydney.
What do you love most about the gown?
I loved how comfortable it was, but how modern the cut outs made it. I also loved the sleeves - I didn’t find any other gowns which had short sleeves.
Are there any special details about your wedding that you would like to share? (A particular reason you chose the venue, or the date, or did you have a special ritual in your day that was important to you?)
We kept our wedding small and having the longer day allowed us to speak to everyone who attended, which was important to us. It also allowed us to freely roam on the day, rather than having to stick to a tight schedule.
Were there any details that you (and friends and family) made yourselves?
We had our mutual best friend be our celebrant! It made the ceremony super special.
Finally, Do you have any words of wisdom for couples planning their big day? This can be to do with any part of the wedding – eg, planning, budget, or the day itself.
Give yourself enough time to plan, and remember that stress over a wedding is always good stress!

We LOVED Jimmy - easily our favourite vendor. Having him there was like having an old friend take photos. The quality and collection of photos we received was amazing, too.
