Wedding Date: February 22, 2020
What was your wedding venue and why did you choose there?
Our ceremony and reception were both at Zest Waterfront Venues, Point Piper. We loved the idea of having them at the same venue so that immediately after the ceremony our guests could begin the celebrations with champagne and canapes, while we snuck off for photos. We ultimately chose Zest because of the stunning view, incredible food and the amazing staff who made the whole process so easy and enjoyable for us. There is no guessing why they’ve won Best Reception Venue two years in a row!
Did you have a wedding theme/style?
I would say our wedding style was modern elegance. I knew our wedding invitations were going to be the first look into our day and I made sure they spoke to this theme; blind debossed roses with black digital ink on luxe cotton stock. We had beautiful flower arrangements with lots of whites and soft pinks, which tied in with the beautiful dusty rose dresses my bridesmaids wore. The modern twist first came into play with our ceremony where we wrote our own vows and then the reception where we encouraged our guests to take Polaroids to accompany their messages in our guest book. This was the first little look into our celebrations once we returned from the honeymoon, before we got back any professional photos.
How did you and your now Husband meet?
Tom and I were introduced by my sister. He had asked her to set him up with one of her single friends and she suggested me. It wasn’t long before I had a Facebook friend request and the rest, as they say, is history!
What is your proposal story?
Tom proposed on a trip to Singapore. I lived there for six years growing up and it holds a very special place in my heart (I met my three best friends and bridesmaids whilst living there). On our last night we checked in to the Marina Bay Sands and he had organised for rose petals on the bed that spelt out ‘Will You Marry Me?.
How did you hear about Prea James Bridal?
Instagram was how I found most of my suppliers and where I first saw the beautiful Prea James gowns.
From where did you purchase your gown?
I purchased my gown from Hope X Page in Caringbah. Alex was an absolute dream to work with. She knew exactly which styles would suit my body shape and when she got me into the Mira gown we both knew it was the one.
What do you love most about the gown?
When looking for inspiration I fell in love with the dress worn by Carolyn Bessette Kennedy on her wedding day. I loved the simple elegance and the cowl neck (something I hadn’t seen a lot of). This is what drew me to the Mira Gown - a dress so special and timeless that I know when I look back on it in 20 years I’ll still love it just as much.
Are there any special details about your wedding that you would like to share?
Coming from a Lebanese background it was important for me to acknowledge that on our wedding day. We had the drums which were the perfect way to get everyone on the dance floor, our cake was made of Lebanese sweets and our bomboniere’s were sugared almonds.
Finally, Do you have any words of wisdom for couples planning their big day?
It can become very overwhelming planning a wedding, but it’s so important to not lose sight of what the day is truly about. Make sure you take some quiet time amongst the chaos on the night to soak it all in with your new husband or wife – it goes way too quick!

Hair & Makeup: Booked through Sarah Maria Makeup
Makeup: Georgia Lebbos
Hair: Amanda IshakI wanted to look like myself on my wedding day. The girls really listened to what I wanted and I was so pleased with how my hair and makeup turned out, and with how stunning my bridesmaids looked. Georgia stuck around until the very last minute to do touch-ups and was such a warm and positive energy to have around in those final moments at home!
Venue: Zest Waterfront Venues, Point Piper

Hilla had worked with our venue many times before. We sat down with the girls a couple of times to discuss our colour scheme and arrangements, and we were blown away with how beautiful they turned out!

Danielle and Irini worked with me to design our invitations and signage. Their work is just stunning and we could not have loved our invitations more!
Cake: Abla’s Pastries
Abla’s Pastries put together our amazing cake and bomboniere’s. They’re the only place our family will go for our Lebanese sweets!
Accessories
Veil: Dove Grey from Hope X Page
Shoes: Miu Miu
Bridesmaids Dresses: Bec & Bridge
Groom & Groomsmen’s Suits: BM Bespoke
Tom had a seamless and enjoyable experience with BM Bespoke. Blake is a friend and organised a private suit fitting for the boys. We’d highly recommend him for anyone wanting a perfectly fitted suit for their big day!
Band/DJ: Oberon Lane
Oberon Lane was incomparable from the start. We went with the complete Duo Package. Their cover of Fire & Flood – Vance Joy, as I walked down the aisle is something we’ll never forget. They had our guests singing before the mains were even served which created an incredible atmosphere, and they had the dance floor pumping the whole night!
Celebrant/MC: Gary Reilly ‘You May Kiss’
We can’t thank Gary enough for the energy, laughter and ease he brought to our special day. We truly didn’t have to worry about a thing – he had it covered! So many of our guests asked us how we knew him, which is proof that he takes the time to get to know his couples and their love stories. We couldn’t have asked for a better celebrant or MC!
Rings: Armans Fine Jewellery
Tom worked with Armans to design my engagement ring. The process was so enjoyable, and when he took me in to meet the boys there was no question that we’d be getting them to create our wedding bands as well.
