TASH & CHRISTIAN'S SOUTH MELBOURNE WEDDING
Photographer: Sayher Heffernan
Wedding Date: 7th September 2019
Where was your wedding venue and why did you choose there?
Our wedding venue both ceremony & reception was at the wonderful space, Half Acre in South Melbourne. We fell in love with the venue as soon as we walked in. The vibe was relaxed and warm, which is what we wanted for our big day. We wanted to have both the wedding & the ceremony in one location so our guests could enjoy our day without having to travel too much.
Did you have a wedding theme/style?
We wanted something romantic – that made the guests feel like they were at an intimate dinner rather than a wedding reception. Flowing whimsical flowers, dim lighting with lots of candles. We had an amazing team working on our wedding and our vision came to life!
How did you and your now Husband meet?
We met at work. We both worked together at an online retailer, and kept bumping into each other in the hallways, we eventually started chatting & the rest is history.
What is your proposal story?
Christian had been holding on to the ring for months, and we had recently moved to a bayside suburb in Melbourne and we decided take a leisurely stroll down the beach. He thought that it would be the perfect moment to propose, as I wouldn’t of expected it – and he was right, I was so surprised!
We walked and chatted, and he suggested we sit down for a moment where he quickly got down on one knee! It was such a sweet moment, and was very relaxed which couldn’t have been more us.
How did you hear about Prea James Bridal?
Pre-wedding, I followed so many bridal pages on the gram & came across Prea James & saw the Cara gown and I absolutely fell in love.
From where did you purchase your gown?
I had already purchased a dress from another company but really wasn’t happy with it. I couldn’t get the Cara gown out of my mind and was so lucky that Prea was doing a pop up store in Melbourne & I got to try it on. It was like it was made for me – It was such an amazing experience meeting Prea, she is so lovely & really cares about her clients.
What do you love most about the gown?
As soon as I put it on I knew it was the one, it was perfect & everything about it was what I envisioned for my wedding day. It’s an elegant dress, but still has an edge that I was after.
Are there any special details about your wedding that you would like to share?
We decided to do a first look before our ceremony. It was something we really wanted to do, so we could spend more time together alone, before being surrounded with hundreds of people. We are so glad we did the first look, as it made us feel so comfortable and more relaxed, which meant we were able to take in the day & not feel overwhelmed or anxious.
Were there any details that you made yourselves?
We left it all to the professionals!
Finally, Do you have any words of wisdom for couples planning their big day?
I know many people say this, but take a step back and take it all in. The day goes by in a flash & almost a bit of a blur – so make sure you spend time with the people that mean the most to you, especially your new husband! Take a moment to sit with him in the bridal suite and have some champagne together and enjoy the ‘just married’ feeling.
