Ashleigh + Matthew's Kiama Wedding

Wedding Date:  1st December 2018

What was your wedding venue (ceremony & reception) and why did you choose there?
Our wedding was at Bush Bank, Kiama NSW. We live in Wollongong and had driven past Bush Bank so many times, always admiring the views. As soon as we were engaged we had a look at the property and couldn’t say no to the stunning ocean views and rolling green valleys.  We are both from the central west so loved that Bush Bank was a seaside venue but had that country feel too.

Did you have a wedding theme/style?
We didn’t really have a particular theme in mind but knew we wanted it to be relaxed and casual. Our furniture was mostly timber and white, and we used native flowers and lush jungle greenery to transform the marquee. The standout piece was the floral installation– it was spectacular! I wanted to take it home and hang in my living room.

How did you and your now Husband meet?
We first met while working at a pub together. Then 5 years later we ran into one another again on a night out and then the rest is history.

What is your proposal story?
We went to Jervis Bay for the day. We enjoyed a picnic on the beach with wine and cheese, followed by a walk to one of the points and that was when Matt caught me completely off guard and got down on one knee. It was very romantic.

How did you hear about Prea James Bridal?
I randomly found Prea James Bridal on Instagram. As soon as I saw the Nadia gown, I knew it was the one for me. I couldn’t believe my luck when I found out her studio was in my hometown.

From where did you purchase your gown?
From Prea’s studio in Wollongong.

What do you love most about the gown?
I loved absolutely everything! I wanted a gown that was simple and elegant and it was exactly that. Prea was lovely to work with, she happily customised my dress so I felt more comfortable in it and she listened to any concerns I had – it was honestly the best experience.
