Wedding Date: 15th September 2018

What was your wedding venue (ceremony & reception) and why did you choose there?

We had our wedding at The Earth House, Clunes NSW, about 30 minutes from Byron Bay. We chose this stunning venue after our original sea side venue cancelled on us 3 months prior to the wedding. We couldn’t have imagined our wedding anywhere else now. The views and atmosphere was incredible.

Did you have a wedding theme/style?

We wanted to incorporate the coastal and relaxed Byron Bay beach lifestyle into our theme. The furniture and table settings were predominately timber and white with natural tones used for cushions, rugs and accessories. We used cane chairs, rattan lampshades and floor cushions to create a relaxed look and feel. The Earth House dining space looked incredible with the use of a lot of candles and the flower hanging installation.

How did you and your now Husband meet?

We met through our best friends. We had been friends for about 4 years until we pursued the spark that was always there.

 What is your proposal story?

Omar took me on a weekend away to one of my favourite coastal towns in Victoria, Lorne. He proposed by the fire in a cottage amongst the trees. Very romantic.

How did you hear about Prea James Bridal?

I came across the collection at The Bridal Atelier in Prahran.

From where did you purchase your gown?

The Bridal Atelier in Prahran.

What do you love most about the gown?

Absolutely everything. I knew it was the one when I first tried it on. The silk feels and looks incredible. It was modern, elegant and had beautiful details to make it unique.

Are there any special details about your wedding that you would like to share?

We planned a pre wedding holiday with our closest friends and family members. It was important and very special to us for everyone to be together for the week. Everyone had the chance to really get to know eachother and the week of activies and events were a lot of fun.

Finally, Do you have any words of wisdom for couples planning their big day?

Always have a backup plan for your venue and weather. We had a very stressful time trying to find another venue after two fell through. We were very fortunate to find the ideal venue in the end.

On the day ensure you have enough time to really be present and enjoy the moments that you have spent up to 12 months or more planning! We left ourselves two hours after the ceremony to enjoy the canapés and mingling with friends before the photos which was a highlight.

 Photographer:  Amelia Fullarton

Videographer: Josue Films. David went the extra mile for us. He came early to get some extra footage of Omar and his friends down at the beach as well as stayed until the very end.

Hair & Makeup: Alex Ouston – Makeup / Tara Morris – Hair

Stylist: Roxy from Frank and Joy.

Wedding Co-ordinator: Roxy from Frank and Joy. Roxy was incredible throughout our 12mths planning and on the day. The proceedings on the day were seamless and every detail was thought about. I didn’t have to worry about a thing – which is what you want on your big day!

Florist: Wilderness flowers – Mikarla is extremely talented and creative with her floristry. The flowers were stunning.

Stationery: An Etsy designer for the invitations and menus.

Cake: We served Gelato instead of cake. It was a hit!

Caterer: Joe Chef. The food was delicious, and the service was amazing. The guests still do not stop raving about the food. Joe was very attentive and helpful in the leadup to our wedding and on the big day. He went above and beyond to create a menu that ticked all the boxes for us.

Band/DJ: Sapote – a three piece band including a saxophonist, percussionist & DJ.

Celebrant: Cara Gallagher from Modern Love Ceremonies was really great. She made us feel very comfortable leading up to and on the day and she really got the crowd engaged and in laughter throughout the ceremony. It was definitely a highlight.
